FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Find Out What You Need to Know

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from those interested in our Independent Living neighborhood. Read on to find out more about Sterling Presbyterian Manor. If there’s a question we haven’t answered here, contact us today.

  • When is the right time to move into an Independent Living community?

Seniors often reach a point where they think about rightsizing. Their house may be more than they want, or, for some, are able to handle. They might start thinking it would be fun to sell the lawn mower and move somewhere maintenance-free. The ideal time to move into an Independent Living community is when you feel the itch to change things up, but when you are still active enough to enjoy the lifestyle benefits of a senior living community.

  • What are my Independent Living options?

We offer beautiful homes and cottages for our Independent Living residents.

  • Do you have a wait list?

Yes. To get on the wait list, you must submit a long-term application for residency.

  • Do you have additional storage?

Storage is available in the townhomes and cottages, or for additional storage, we can direct you to convenient storage units nearby. In addition, we can provide expert assistance in rightsizing. A move of this kind usually requires anticipating future needs and making some tough decisions about furnishings and possessions. In truth, you most likely spend the majority of your time in just a few rooms of your house. We can help you in planning. We’ll work with you personally to ensure the choices you make are right for you and consistent with the way you want live.

  • How do your fees work? Is it a buy-in or a monthly fee?

Monthly accommodation fees begin at $740, depending on the residence and finance option selected. Our campus offers an entrance fee with a lower monthly fee option and higher monthly accommodation option without an entrance fee. Paying an entrance fee up front is like an investment that secures your money and provides an ongoing guaranteed benefit of having lower monthly costs. We recommend you speak with your financial adviser about the best option for you.

  • Do I have to disclose all of my finances?

No. We need to see enough that we feel confident you can afford private pay senior living for the foreseeable future, but this does not require full disclosure of your finances.

  • Do you offer a meal plan?

Sterling Presbyterian Manor’s philosophy of resident-centered senior living has transformed the dining experience to a modern, restaurant-like atmosphere. We offer a menu, providing residents with flexibility in their food choices at every meal.

  • Is there parking?

Yes, there are garages for independent living cottages.

  • Are pets allowed?

Yes, we allow pets in Independent Living. Residents may have small dogs or cats.

  • Are there social opportunities or activities in Independent Living?

Absolutely! We offer activities, a vibrant social life, cultural outings, shopping trips, and more. Check out our programs or calendars to see some of what’s going on.
