There's such an energy in the air when school lets out for the summer, and we wanted to join in the fun! We hosted a “school’s out celebration” in May. We had a face painting booth, the Sterling Public Library came and hosted a table and got 27 kids signed up for the Summer Reading Program, Retired Police Chief Mary Kendrick hosted a table, Mickey served as a fortune teller, and Kindred Hospice was here with Aide Rosa and her horse Maggie.
Another horse—this time a miniature one—came as well. She belongs to our nurse Leona. We had a popcorn table, lemonade table, cotton candy table, funnel cakes, and a ton of games—Velcro ball toss, tick tack toe, corn hole, ball toss, basketball, and horse shoes. Fun was had by all, no matter their age!
