Luau replaces prom at Sterling Presbyterian Manor

In lieu of a prom this year, Sterling Presbyterian Manor went tropical and threw a luau.  The residents said they enjoyed the good food, watching the kids play with bubbles, and getting to visit with new people and make new friends. The Sterling United Methodist Church Youth Group joined in the Hawaiian-themed fun by acting as servers and entertainment.

The bubble machine was the No. 1 request for the event by the residents on the luau committee. The Youth Group had fun with the machine and also brought a ukulele player who serenaded everyone with island tunes. The Youth Group will be spending Tuesday afternoons this summer with the residents. What better way to start off this relationship than with banana splits, watermelon and bubbles!
