The hustle and bustle of the holidays is finally over! For staff at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, this means the creation of dreamy, ambitious New Year’s resolutions that may or may not make it past March. For the residents, this means looking back at their lifelong bucket list of things that are not checked off.
Now that the excitement of the holidays is over, a potentially cold Kansas winter approaches, and that sometimes means a slower pace for our lives. But have no fear! Here to help with any New Year’s blues is Activity Director Donna Grizzle. She is filling 2018 with plans to keep staff and residents working on their personal goals and following through with their most desired activities.
For staff, Presbyterian Manor is hosting a Biggest Loser Weight Loss Challenge! This challenge includes a sign-up fee, weekly weigh-ins, fees per pound gained each week, fees for missed weigh-ins, prizes for the team that loses the most percentage of fat, and a prize for the individual biggest loser. This will easily be the most fun you could have while losing!
For the residents, Donna has planned a Bucket List Challenge! She will interview all residents to find out the top three things that they wish they had done or could do once again. Stay tuned throughout the year for lists of bucket items, stories about favorite memories and adventures, and spotlights on residents whose bucket items get checked off!
